About Us
CFUW is a non-partisan, self-funded organization with 94 clubs across Canada and over 6,600 members. Since the founding of CFUW in 1919, our mission has been to achieve educational and economic equality and social justice through continuous learning and empowerment. Our vision is that women and girls are educated and empowered to make transformative change in the world.
The Charlottetown club was founded in 1955 as an affiliate of the National organization. Together CFUW and member clubs across Canada work to improve the status of women and to promote access to education and jobs; freedom from discrimination, violence and harassment; equality in work, school and relationships; support systems; and peace and safety in our communities and country. We meet monthly from September to May. Upcoming meetings are posted in Updates.
Membership
We are a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization. We want to reflect the diversity in our communities and to include women with a wide variety of talents, experience, and education. Membership is open to any woman who supports the goals of CFUW.

Individual clubs can choose to be involved in GWI, or opt-out. CFUW Charlottetown is an opt-out club.
